Billy as Jerry Lee in the musical 'Great balls of Fire' at The Cambridge Theatre, London

Billy grew up in West London, Bedfordshire and South West Dorset. He began teaching himself to play various musical instruments at an early age and began playing in various bands until , at the age of 17 , he grabbed a guitar and set off across Europe in search of fame & fortune ! He returned to the UK two years later penniless and decided to get some professional training in the Arts before beginning work as an Actor / Musician. After a year at East 15 Drama school in London he began his stage career in a number of Regional theatres including ;The Bolton Octagon, Sheffield Crucible, Nottingham Playhouse, York Theatre Royal, Plymouth Theatre Royal and The Liverpool Everyman Theatre. In 1989 he went to audition for the part of the Crickets Drummer in the award winning musical ‘Buddy'. The Director took one look at him and said ‘come back tomorrow with a guitar and a big pair of Glasses!' he did and for the next three years played the part of Buddy Holly at The Victoria Palace in Londons West End, 1st UK and International tour. He has appeared as Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights for a UK national tour and in 1999 after three months intensive Rock and Roll Piano training took on the formidable role of Jerry Lee Lewis in ‘Great Balls of Fire' at the Cambridge Theatre in the West End. His Television work has included Steve Robson in ‘The Cup' BBC 2 Comedy series. Detective Inspector Barrett in series 1-4 of ‘The Last Detective', Cliff Lewis in ‘London Bridge' series 1-3, Joe Birch in ‘Poirot' ( multi award winning series). Detective Banks in ‘East Enders', Hollyoaks, Family Affairs, Casualty, Doctors, Auf Wiedersehen Pet, The Bill, Soldier, Soldier, Heartbeat, Chancer, Peak Practice and The Riff Raff Element. Film appearances ; Jim Cooper in‘No Child Of Mine' BAFTA award winner; best single Drama. Grand Prix 'Cinéma Tout Ecran' Winner; Best Director. Teacher in ‘Franklyn' Father in ‘Eight hours from Paris'.
